In this conversation, journalist Elia Powers speaks with Greta Zarro, who works on the 12-acre Unadilla Community Farm in rural West Edmeston, NY; and Shenee Simon, who lives in Memphis and does research and consulting on health, environment, and food security for girls and women.Greta and Shenee talk with Elia about food access, equity, and overcoming the urban-rural divide. Both women are participants in Urban Rural Action’s Uniting for America program that seeks to bring together urban and rural partners on common issues such as food, prison reform, social justice, and more. Four communities to host in-person events for Rural Assembly Everywhere 2025

The Rural Assembly is pleased to announce that four communities from across the country will host in-person gatherings as part of virtual Rural Assembly Everywhere on Sept. 17.

Each partner will host events in their communities, bringing neighbors together to view the Rural Assembly Everywhere virtual programming and take part in local conversations and activities.
