Do YOU belong?

Join us in Bethesda, Maryland, June 23-26, for the 2013 National Rural Assembly.

Over three days we’ll be offering a more inclusive narrative for and about rural America that focuses on the shifting demographics and social changes underway in our communities. The conference will examine the opportunities these changes present for rural Americans in building a more sustainable and inclusive nation.

We’re excited to offer a compelling set of activities, conversations, and opportunities for building connections with rural leaders from across the country.  Some highlights of this year’s conference include:

  • Collaboration with the White House Rural Council

We are working with the White House Rural Council to address topics that are of key importance to rural America, including rural sign-up in the new healthcare exchanges, our country’s response to climate change and growing energy needs, comprehensive immigration reform, and the role philanthropy plays as a catalyst for positive development in all its forms.   Officials from the White House Rural Council and the Administration will join us for breakout sessions and panel presentations.

  • Young Professionals Leadership Training, all-day June 23

The National Rural Youth Assembly is excited to provide a youth-focused day of professional development prior to the full gathering of the National Rural Assembly in Bethesda, Maryland. We are inviting young adults working in rural communities and organizations to join us on Sunday, June 23 for a full day of training on Public Narrative. (Learn more about this opportunity.)

  • Policy-driven breakout sessions-you can help!

We will host a diverse selection of breakout sessions aimed at making our collective policy work smarter and more effective.   Sessions will focus on trends affecting policy and current advocacy opportunities within multiple sectors.  We are still looking for excellent breakout session proposals.  Deadline for submitting a proposal is May 6.

There is much more information to come over the next few weeks.  In the meantime, please REGISTER and book your travel. We look forward to seeing you in June 2013.
