Join Our Team

The Rural Assembly is thrilled to announce a new job opportunity! We are looking for a highly collaborative leader with strong organizational management skills to join our team. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 10, 2023.

Who We Are

The Rural Assembly is a movement of rural leaders and organizations from across the country working to promote smarter, greener, more inclusive outcomes for the nation.

For nearly 15 years, the Rural Assembly has created and curated events, activities, and multimedia in ways that amplify rural stories and voices with key audiences. We’ve sought out ways to build bridges with urban-based groups and coalitions, and we’ve participated in advocacy campaigns aimed at strengthening all kinds of rural infrastructure, including broadband, arts & culture, tax reform, and health, to name a few.

We believe rural communities are places of innovation, compassionate leadership, and civic participation. There is an opportunity right now to draw the connections between rural and its counterparts, to name the roads, fibers, and futures that connect us. To craft a future of us and ours. The Rural Assembly exists in this space, tending relationships and changing perceptions in service to healing a divided nation.

Someone who will help us manage the day-to-day operations of a growing program. Someone who enjoys directing traffic, creating systems to streamline work, and values collaboration with a staff, contractors, and partners. We’d love to find someone who is familiar with the mechanics of policy advocacy, who can write and speak well, and who feels passionate about rural futures and livelihoods.

A leader with nonprofit management experience; a seasoned professional rural advocate; or an organizational strategist with a passion for rural places. Maybe you’ve managed a political campaign or organized for change at the local, state, or national level with multiple stakeholders.
