Sign on! Letter to Obama Administration supports a stronger rural America

Rural Assembly Friends:

Rural communities use federally- funded conservation programs to:

  • transform local economies and create needed jobs
  • restore and protect priority landscapes and resources
  • ensure the health of our land and water

Rural stakeholders know that federal spending on conservation is an investment in our nation’s future.  Would you sign a letter that says so

The National Rural Assembly recently contributed to a letter developed by the Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition urging the Obama Administration to recognize the significant impact conservation funding has on the long-term economic and ecological health of rural America.

We’re writing to ask you to join us in demonstrating your support for federal investment in rural economic development and conservation by signing the attached letter to the Obama Administration. As Congress and the Administration continue to seek opportunities to cut Federal spending, it is critical we remind them that conservation investments create jobs and build strong local economies in rural communities, especially in the West. To read and sign the letter click here.

Our goal is to get at least 100 organizations and businesses from across the country to sign-on to the support letter.

Please consider adding your organization or business to this letter before April 25, 2012.

Thank you!
