Radically Rural is an annual, two-day national summit focused on shaping and sharing ideas about rural opportunities and finding solutions to challenges. The summit brings together hundreds of people who are passionate about creating vibrant, robust rural communities and are eager to learn, connect, and lead the charge. This year's summit features six engaging program tracks - Arts and Culture, Entrepreneurship, Journalism, Main Street, Renewable Energy, and Working Lands. Each program track features three sessions with a combined final session on bridgeable economic gaps between rural and urban communities. The summit features the premier networking event, CONNECT: What's Next!, where hundreds of people gather for locally sourced gourmet food, making connections, and art-inspired installations that highlight new technology and advancements in the industries of each program track. For example, the Working Lands Track installation will feature a Bionutrient Meter prototype - a spectrometer that measures nutrient density in produce and puts power back in the hands of local farmers. On September 19th, Wendy Guillies, CEO of the Kauffman Foundation, will kick off the summit with a keynote address and the event will end on September 20th with Art Markman, Executive Director of the IC² Institute at the University of Texas at Austin, rethinking the way that business ecosystems develop in rural regions.
